Even more geeky goodness
Mar. 16th, 2008 10:20 pmToday I went back over to the convention just long enough to buy more geek toys and to say goodbye to Peter. Then I went over to
branna's house, where we met
rachelmanija, who drove us to Chinatown for dim sum. Yum.
rachelmanija also took us to a store that sold manga, where I picked one up on her recommendation. (No, I won't get hooked. Never. Not me.) It was great to see both of them and get caught up. It's been years since I've seen Rachel.
I drove home up 101, with the sun slowly setting over the ocean to my left. It's spring, so the hills were green and very beautiful. I left late enough that there wasn't much traffic, so I had a mostly peaceful* and very beautiful drive home.
* I did almost cause an accident. I was in the right lane and signaled to change lanes so I could pass the car in front of me. There was a car in the left lane who apparently didn't want me to change in front of him. I was a little close when I started the lane change, and when I looked back he had tried to pull up and keep me from changing lanes, but I didn't see him do that (since he did it in my blind spot as I was merging), so what I did see was him swerving along the side of the road right on my tail. Never once did it occur to him to brake. However, I decided I needed to be in less of a hurry myself, and drove more slowly and much more carefully the rest of the way.
