"High Chapparal". I had a huge crush on Manolito Montoya when I was five, and when I watched it as an adult in reruns, it was still an excellent show. It also featured a younger Latina woman married to an older white man, and a Latino brother and sister acting like a brother and sister (yelling at each other in Spanish, mostly).

I almost cried when Firefly was cancelled. I wonder if that show is one of the reasons steampunk is popular now.

I'm right there with you...both re Mano ("Ah, Mano....") AND Firefly.

"High Chapparal" was a Sunday requirement in our house. Would kinda like to see it again. For me, probably "Millennium." Take away the third season and keep the plot line from the second going. I loved the Owls and the Roosters.

I've not watched much television since high school but the show I wish they would do more of are the Nero Wolfe Mysteries which were done by A&E. They starred Maury Chaykin as Nero and timothy Hutton Archie Goodwin. The sets, costuming, scripts, and supporting cast were all first rate and dead on the to stories. And there are plenty more of those that could be done. It is still possible that they might do some more. I've heard that all the principle actors are willing. It would be great.....

Did you ever see "Ellery Queen" with Timothy Hutton's father as the title character? Those were excellent, too.

"The High Chaparral" is occasionally rerun on some of the cable channels. I think there's an all-Western channel that runs it.

Northern Exposure was the best. It felt like Salinger to me: intelligent, poignant, kind and funny until the last season or two.

Nowadays that show would not last more than a few episodes.
