A good weekend
Sep. 12th, 2004 10:38 pmThis was a lovely weekend, made even lovelier by not having to work at all. (We fixed a major customer problem Friday afternoon.) Friday night,
maestrateresa and I went to a Mensa dinner-and-a-movie that a friend of ours hosts, up in San Francisco, and had a great time. It was fun meeting a whole bunch of intelligent, interesting people at once. Saturday I went to the Bard of the Mists competition (an SCA event), where I was a judge, having been a Bard of the Mists about ten years ago. (It was odd to realize that of the previous Bards of the Mists who were present, I was third in seniority. When did I become such an old timer?) The winner of the competition gave a tremendous, though not traditional, performance, and should make an interesting Bard. Today, except for going out for brunch, I spent at home, reading, sleeping, and watching TV (a.k.a heaven). And tomorrow is another week.
