a weekend off

I've tried very hard to not think about work all weekend, and been reasonably successful.

I finally saw "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and loved the Oompa-Loompas. Er, the Oompa-Loompa. And the songs. The cast was great, the kids were awful, Charlie was wonderful, and Christopher Lee did a good job even though I didn't like that part of the story.

I committed shopping therapy, and got two new pairs of work shoes (on sale), a carry case for my iPod (not an official Apple one, which is useless, but a wallet-sized purse, so the ear bug cord doesn't get caught on things in my bag), and a beautiful new top from Coldwater Creek. This one is bright and colorful, and looks great on me. I mostly wear blouses in single colors, and I think this will make me look less plain.

I also got two polo shirts for the elder godson, psychic_fish, who wore one to the mall with me when I took him to get job applications. Then we went back to his house and created a resume for him to use, both to have the info all in one place for the job applications and to use when he needs an actual resume.

And, of course, I read (started The Ghost Sister and read some chapters in Golf for Dummies) and watched TV (Firely, Battlestar Galactica, The 4400, The Dead Zone, Teen Titans) and ate too much.
