an actual social life
Sep. 19th, 2005 09:32 pmIn the last week I've had more social activities than I've had in a couple of months put together.
Tuesday: Went to see the San Jose Musical Theater's production of "The Wizard of Oz". They had a real dog, who pretty much decided about halfway through that he'd had enough. He'd go on stage just long enough to get his doggy treat, then run off. Dorothy said, many times, "Toto! You've come back!" only to see him run away again. They also did interesting things with pyrotechnics and a trap door. The munchkins were a bunch of adorable children in wonderful costumes. There were a couple of song and dance numbers that weren't in the movie, but which I believe were written for the movie, including dancing crows and dancing jitterbugs.
Wednesday: Went to scribe night. Repainted the tree trunks on my current scroll so they actually look more like tree trunks.
Thursday: Had dinner with
galeni, who was out for a conference. Great conversation, great company.
Friday: Shopping and dinner with
galeni and
maestrateresa.
galeni is my lucky charm for shopping. While we were in Nordstrom's looking at shoes, I decided to pop upstairs and see if they had any grownup style rain coats. (I already have a great warm weather grownup coat, but here it rains more than it gets really cold.) I was pretty sure they wouldn't have anything at all, much less anything I'd like, and it turned out there was one rain coat. In black and green, my favorite colors. In my size. That fit perfectly, including having vertical quilting down the front, so it looked good on me. What can I say? I bought it.
Saturday: Had my first golf lesson.
Sunday: Went with
galeni to visit
aberwyn and her husband, and
sfmarty, and have dinner. Great company, great conversation, plus I didn't have to drive all the way to SF.
Monday: Went with
maestrateresa and
psychic_frog to dinner, and so I could buy golf shoes. Fun conversation, Chevy's. Yum.
