I got an iPod a few months ago, and love it. I listen to it (almost) daily, whereas before most of my music came from the car radio going to and from work. I have a CD player at home, but I rarely listen to it, since it plays (obviously) an entire CD at a time, and that's not necessarily what I want. So today I bought a speaker for my iPod, and will be getting rid of the CD player, and storing the CDs. It's all computers now.

I was in Dick Clark's restaurant in the Salt Lake City airport a few years back, and hanging on the walls are a bunch of platinum record plaques, with the LP in a frame with the award. A little boy at the next table earnestly asked his father what the big round things are. I think in a few years little boys may not recognize CD's, either.

For those in the Mountain View area, on Tuesday night my friend Rachel is doing a reading/signing of her new book at Books, Inc. at 7:30. Her book (All the Fishes Come Home to Roost) is a very funny yet horrifying memoir of growing up in Meher Baba's ashram in Indian. If we're lucky, she'll do a reading. You should all come, because even if you don't have a lot of interest in funny-yet-horrifying memoirs, c'mon, it's a bookstore on a street full of good restaurants. What else are you going to do on a Tuesday night?
