A day of words
Apr. 20th, 2007 08:25 pmI sent off a short story today. We'll see what happens. Whether it sells or not doesn't matter as much to me as the fact that I finally finished the thing. It's an idea I had a couple of years ago, a kind of feminist Arthurian story, which I've tried in a couple of different forms but hated. I like how it turned out, though as usual I waited until the last minute to finish it, so it could probably use a little more polish.
I'm also almost finished with A Feast for Crows, and I'm sorry I started reading it. The number of body parts -- fingers, nipples, hands, cheeks, breasts, and heads -- that have been hacked or chewed off has gotten to be ridiculous. Also, the series is turning into a lot of horrible, miserable characters that do horrible things to the very few decent characters remaining. I think this will be the last book of the series that I read.
