Thoughts while cooking
Oct. 20th, 2010 09:47 pmI was washing arugula for a salad when it hit me: I'm about to eat leaves for dinner. That was a very liberating thought, for some reason. I decided that since I was fixing leaves, and leaves have a humble nature, then I could do with them as I pleased. I tore the leaves up into bite-sized pieces, mixed them with a different kind of leaf, and added chopped radishes and leeks. Delicious.
Did you know that you can steam green beans in the microwave, in under two minutes? I was very excited to find this out. And the green beans were delicious.
