I haz a bike!
Mar. 23rd, 2013 06:05 pmThanks to the incredibly nice
jeanvieve (and possibly others), I now own an adult tricycle, which looks a lot like this one only in dark blue. So far I've ridden it around the block (maybe a quarter mile), and am exhausted. The good news is that riding it seems to calm down most of my muscles that are aggravated by MS, so that's a huge win there even beyond the exercise.
Chaz has been riding with me, only on his big black bicycle. He's been riding circles around me, and it's been fun (and reassuring) having him there. I'm not used to having two wheels in back. When the road angles off to the side the back wheels cause the bike to lean, and it was very disconcerting the first couple of times I encountered that. I'm being careful, though, and making wide turns and other adjustments. Next week I want to ride down to the pub for quiz night, after I've had a chance to get bike lights.
I might have been heard to say "Whee!" a couple of times this afternoon.
