Bugaloos and Banana Splits
Jul. 1st, 2015 12:09 pmI was recently reminded of Bugaloos, thanks to
sovay's linked to this piece. The bugaloos were a set of peace-loving insects that were also a band (of course). This was a short-lived Sid and Marty Kroft series, and I loved it. It was on in the 1970-71 season, when I was seven and living in Beaumont, TX, where I had no friends. The bugaloos were psychedelic and wonderfully weird, and are right up there with the Banana Splits for my favorite childhood TV show. I think the jug that
sovay linked to would fit right in with Sid and Marty Kroft's kids TV shows. I don't know why these appealed to me so much, just as I love the Medieval clothing that mixed colors with abandon. I think I just like weird.
