The best time I've ever had sweeping

Remember how my company played cricket a few months ago? Today we went curling. And you know what? Curling is an actual sport, not, say, a stand-around-and-drink sport. There are two parts to it. The first part, that I had a hard time doing because of my knee, involves squatting down and balancing (on ice) before shoving off with one foot and pushing a 42-pound stone down the ice. The other part, which I was surprisingly good at, involved hurrying along (on ice) in front of the stone, sweeping the ice to make the stone move farther. Or so they claimed. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, I only fell down once, and my team won, so it was a fun time. And boy, are my muscles tired.

Where is there curling around here?

It's Canada's official national sport!
But don't tell CBC that. (:

"Hurry hard!"

Congratulations on throwing your first rock.

I must admit I've always thought it looked like hard work.

Yay curling! (It is Scotland's other national sport; the UK does rather well at international championships, but when you hear them interviewed afterwards they're allll Scottish.)

But did you wear the PANTS?

You gotta be really serious to dress in those pants!

Yes, I actually remember the Norway team's curling outfit from the Olympics, which goes to show how loud the design was. (Yes, I watch curling on TV and I am not even Canadian.)
