Back in the groove

One of the best things for me to do when I'm stressed out is to do aikido. It's good exercise, and by its nature is very relaxing. So what have I not been doing for the last month, while I've been stressed out about Kath and about the job hunt? Yup. Tonight I went to a seminar, which was only an hour and a half, but it was very hot and I'm, as usual, asthmatic and out of shape. I had fun and learned stuff, but ow. Ow. Ow.

Yay for groovy aikido! (and for the soak in the tub after, to recuperate from it :)

There is something very cleansing and focussing about martial arts or any complicated physical pursuit. It is surprising to me, who lives so much in my head, how much it adds to my quality of life, even if it's an effort at the actual time I do it.

No aikido for a month? I bet that's been making you even more stressed out. Get back in there and throw some people across the room.
