Day Three...
May. 12th, 2004 09:40 pm...and I still like my job. Today one of the sales engineers remembered that I had started and called me a couple of times for help with customer problems. All I was able to do was create a support incident in the database, and coordinate with the development team, who really solved the problems. Soon, though, I hope to be able to answer questions myself.
One idiotic thing I did was forget to install the anti-virus software on Monday when I set up my laptop, so by Tuesday afternoon I had a virus. Norton took care of the virus, but I also had an annoying popup problem, so I downloaded AdAware, and got rid of 212(!) adware/malware cookies and other objects. What's astounding is that I had scarcely used the Internet at all, and only received one email from outside the company. (Our support database is web-based, and I had been logged in to that all afternoon, and I checked my email via webmail.) I recommend AdAware, which is free, for everyone using Windows.
