I loved the not-taking-themselves-seriously aspect of the "Chicks" anthologies. (The S&S anthologies sometimes were a bit too earnest.) I once had a paper in a Kalamazoo session whose name was inspired by this series ("Chicks in Charters") which, unfortunately had to be explained over and over again to people who weren't fans.
