Just as I began to wake up mentally and creatively, as well as starting to exercise more, what do I do but hurt my back again. It was out all last weekend, but I went to the chiropractor on Monday and thought it was fixed. I just got back from aikido and a trip to the grocery store, and there's something very wrong with the small of my back. When I bend over, I experience great pain and my back gives out. And I don't think the chiropractor is there on Thursdays.

At lunch, though, I went to University Art in Palo Alto to get my black belt scroll (that's the best way to describe it, since it looks like an SCA scroll in Japanese, without pictures) framed, and I picked up a magnifier to user when I paint. I'll try it out tomorrow night.

Eew, my sympathies. Are we still on for tonight? It's okay if you're not up to it; I'm desperately battling to stay awake after a couple of long workdays.

I don't get home until 6:30ish, and I'm not expecting other people until 7:30ish. You're welcome to join me for dinner, which would probably mean eating out, since my cooking is terrible.

Those are maunches, which I think are sleeves, and are a play on her SCA name.
