Dressing the part

Today, in a successful effort to do something fun, I went to lunch and went shopping with
galeni, who was in town for a class.
galeni is a shopping goddess, and was my fashion consultant for the day. I'm going on a business trip in a couple of weeks, and will be with several vice presidents (including my boss, who is prettier than I am and dresses better than I do, even though he's a man). I checked with my fashion expert on East Coast clothing,
greeneyedkzin, who recommended black slacks, a black shell, and a bright feminine cut blazer. I have the first and last coming next week from mail order, but today I got pumps, ankle boots, trouser socks, a belt, a shell, a blue twin set, a really pretty red blouse, new earrings, and a pin for the new coat I got last week. I'm very pleased (and very poor). My grownup clothes collection is growing.
It was also great to see a friend that I rarely get to see. My local friend collection is dwindling, and I miss hanging out with friends. Most of the people still around are gone to SCA events on weekends. Clearly, everyone needs to rearrange their lives to live nearby so I can have people to hang out with.
