A good Friday
Apr. 22nd, 2005 09:43 pmMy boss does a good imitation of someone who is not a geek, but deep down he has secret geek tendencies. One of these is an ability to quote Monty Python routines at length. He likes British humor, and I recently discovered he appreciates religious humor, so I lent him Good Omens. He has a long business trip next week, so maybe he'll get a chance to read it. I think he'll like it.
I went to aikido tonight, and the asshole from last week had come back. My first inclination was to turn around and go home, but fortunately I didn't. I stayed at the other end of the (rather large) dojo, and trained with some people I hadn't seen for a while. It was a good class. The sensei had to leave an hour early, and had asked Frank, one of the black belts, to finish teaching the class. Two other more senior black belts had come to class after the sensei had asked Frank to finish teaching. Frank would teach a technique, have everyone do it, then asked the two senior black belts and me (the only other black belt) to come up and give our take on the technique, too. That was really cool. (I realize he only asked me because he was also asking the only other two black belts, but it was still very cool. Frank's a great guy.)
