As I do once a year, I found myself today saying frequently, "It's Ash Wednesday. Get it? *Ash* Wednesday." I was the only one at work with ashes on my forehead, though a few people did get why without me telling them. I really like the Ash Wednesday service, though, and it's a good excuse to not go to work. :-)

Since I've been on a diet for more than a year, I gave up speeding for Lent.

What a great idea! Relaxing will be good for you. Just remember that the person who speeds past you and cuts you off probably will only get where he or she is going one minute before you do. ;)
