Overdoing it

I had a good weekend. Saturday I went to a cheese party, where I ate lots of cheesy things, drank good wine, and talked to a lot of wonderful people that I just don't get to see very often. It was very good.

Today, I went to Easter services, then maestrateresa and I had Easter brunch at Hobee's, along with one of her fellow students who was at her house working on a project. Then, this afternoon, in order to work off all that food, I went for what turned out to be a ten mile walk along the edge of the Bay. I'm now sunburned, very sore, and dehydrated. But it was still a good day.

It helps me to leave a hat and some sunscreen in the car at all times. Then when I want to go for a bike ride away from home, I have them nearby.

Ditto -- although my "should carry" list also includes good walking shoes since my default summer non-work footwear is sandals. Oh, and a water bottle. And ... damn, no wonder I'm never as prepared for impulsive exercise as I should be.

I do carry good walking shoes (and golf shoes) in my car. I also have a golf hat, but I decided not to wear it since the winds next to the Bay usually blow it off. I need a better walking hat.
