Lost in Translation

I saw Lost in Translation last night, and didn't identify with the main characters, which shows good emotional health on my part. It was a very good movie, about two people adrift in their marriages and careers, who find themselves in Tokyo, one of the strangest places on earth. (Someone said that if you can't write your space aliens to be at least as strange as the Japanese, you've failed.) They spend some time together, and while there isn't a nice, neat resolution, there's a feeling that at least they've begun to get their bearings again.
