So what's Maine done wrong?

Best Beloved has family in Brunswick, Maine, and there's a great gig in Bath at The Chocolate Church, so it's been on our regular itinerary for years. I love it up there, though there are a lot of trees (and construction) between Bath and the Canadian border. Have done the drive to and from Lunenburg Nova Scotia a couple of times. When the Yarmouth to Bar Harbour ferry was running (Scotia Prince) we did that crossing one summer to cut out the drive - and saw orcas in the Bay of Fundy.

I'd love to visit Maine. I lived in Massachusetts for five years but I didn't have a car, so I was limited to trips that friends with cars wanted to take, or that had fairly short bus rides.

you have really filled up the map. I'm way behind you, but I've been to Florida to visit my brother.

Have fun in Florida. Be sure to get some insect repellent in the airport. The mosquitoes there are voracious!

Take good bug repellant, sunhat and sun glasses. The white sand beaches will burn your bare feet - wear shoes/sandals that can take sand and moisture.

The ocean is like bath water and you can go out in it quite a way safely, unlike California.

It looks Disneyworld and a cruise, but I'll see what I can of Florida proper.

In between Ft Lauderdale & Orlando is a butterfly avary: http://www.butterflyworld.com/start.html, which we much enjoyed last year. There's also Cape Canavral and the Everglades, etc. Though the Everglades are much less wild than they used to be.
