Turtle sex

Last week, while my mother was out here visiting me, and sleeping in the same room that the turtles mostly hang out in, what were the turtles doing? Yes, it's mating season. Mom wandered in to tell me that the turtles were stacked on top of each other.

"Oh, they do that sometimes."

Dymphna has eggs inside her. She also feels heavier than she has in a while. Last year she laid one egg, and a few years before that she laid two, so I have hope for this year.

Oh, so that's what the bread turtles in the window of the Boudain bakery on the Wharf are doing ... I wonder if the bakers know :-)
