Good news, bad news

klwilliamsI had a wonderful time in San Diego. I'll post a more thorough trip report soon. Then I got home late at night to discover one of my best friends was in the hospital in ICU, coughing up blood. Today, she's been intubated and sedated, and I can't find anyone who'll tell me what's going on with her. The hospital can't, her mom is at work, so now I'm trying secondary avenues. Our priest may be able to help.
October is not a good month for the people close to me. This friend always seems to have major health problems in October. My mother came within inches of dying a few Octobers ago. Another close friend discovered last week that she had melanoma, but she had out-patient surgery last week and they think they got it all.
Of course, I could talk all this over with my shrink, but he died in May.
