Last night at aikido, while I was doing randori (multiple people attack me, and I step past them and send them rolling on their way), the senseis watching pointed out that I was waiting for the attack, but not offering any energy to the attackers in advance. I've been thinking about this, and I think it's part of my basic personality. In emotional situations (which being attacked by several people at once certainly is) I tend to be contained, and wait for the other person to make the first move. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but it's something to ponder.

I'm a good godmother. I took my now four-year-old godson, Edward,
to Toys R Us so he could pick out his birthday present from me.
He had his heart set on T-Wrecks, a Tyrannosaurus Rex with Hot Wheels
tracks up its back that, depending on what you do, either eats the
cars or spits them all out. He told me he didn't get it for his
birthday because he thinks his mother doesn't want him to have scary
toys (though I checked with her first and she said she just didn't
realize that he wanted it). So, I bought him a T-Rex as big as he
is, and put it together. He and his sister love it, though I think
he's just a little scared of it.

He also told me I was the biggest girl he'd ever met. Sigh. I am
a couple of inches taller than his father, but that's just because
his father is short.
