The whale is good. God sent the whale.
Apr. 19th, 2004 11:09 pmI'm home from visiting my friends who moved to Texas, and incidentally took my godchildren with them. They have a lovely new house, and seem to be settling in well. We went to the local fighter practice, and lots of friendly people came over and chatted.
Today Elizabeth was at school, so Edward and I played together for a while in the morning. I talked him out of playing more of the involved dinosaurs game, and instead we played the board game from "Jonah: the Movie". He loves this game. Even thought the board has been torn in two and doesn't stay together very well, he still has most of the pieces. Unfortunately, one of the missing pieces is the spinner, which decides which of the colored squares your game piece moves to next (kind of like Candyland). Instead, we closed our eyes and picked a color, then moved our piece to that color. I was very pleased with Edward (who is four), as he didn't cheat until the very last move. Lest you think this is a bad thing, for a four-year-old the temptation to cheat is very great because it's so important to get whatever it is you want. (I cheated, so that I always stayed pretty even with his piece.)
The flight back was good, and the turtles were fine. They had even eaten most of their food. They seem to like the hard boiled eggs, but not the green beans.
