klwilliams: (Dymphna)
My turtles are persnickety eaters, and their diet consists mostly of lettuce, red peppers, and Roma tomatoes. I try them on all sorts of things, but they are worse than toddlers when it comes to food choice. A couple of months ago I got some free packages of Science Diet cat food in a pouch, and right before Christmas I tried it out on them. Dymphna loved it. She loved it so much that she has refused to eat anything since I ran out. (Turtles are cold-blooded, and it's been rather cool, so she can get away with that.) So today I bought some more cat food in a pouch (I couldn't find Science Diet brand, and my previous experience with wet food out of a can didn't work) and put some out. Dymphna is now happily scarfing it down.

Milk

What a wonderful movie. Sean Penn did a fantastic job playing Harvey Milk, and the entire cast was superb. It was interesting to watch given that I knew the final outcome, but even so I didn't know enough of the history of the times that the plot was exciting. I was a teenager in Idaho when Milk and Moscone were shot, and I heard of the Twinkie Defense but never knew what the trial was about. I was pretty clueless, though. I also didn't know that most of the boys in my high school drama department were gay, as was the (married with children) teacher.
