Since Tom is an audio engineer, he is continually confused and distressed by the dishonesty of selling these cables for more than $15 each.

I think that if you're able to sell something at, say, 5,000 percent mark-up, and it's already a 'luxury' item (meaning, it's not food or clothing or healthcare -- and face it, anything beyond listening to the radio for personal entertainment is more than nine-tenths of the world can afford -- so I'd definitely call someone looking for patch cables to be in the stratified top one-tenth), then I say "more power too you" and "a fool and his money are soon parted".

If someone is seriously looking at this product to buy, then I'd gladly take his money before he spends it somewhere else on something truly dangerous and stupid like overpowered car sub-woofers.

Amen. I could point you to any number of sites by manufacturers who are are clearly over the line of deceptive, to down right delusional.
