England swings, apparently

Chaz didn't understand why I found this so funny.

This was in London, though there was one right around the corner from Chaz's place in Newcastle.

Similar to the hilarity of a US/Canadian friend when she saw a pub called The Fighting Cocks.

Staying at a pub/B&B in Chester, I was asked by the barmaid, "When do you want me to knock you up in the morning?"

She was cute, too! ;)

All those little cross-cultural misunderstandings are what make the world go around (often at dizzying speed). When Americans call their bum-bags 'fanny packs' it cracks me up. I love the ashen look on the faces of the people who turn quietly to each other and whisper, 'Did she just say what I thought she said?'

American ladies please note. Your bum is your butt. It's what you sit upon and strap a 'bum bag' to. Your fanny is situated between your legs.

The differences between British and American are wonderfully funny. I think it's pretty amusing that some people believe those are not separate languages.
