One week report

I've finished my first week at my new job, and I still love it. My boss was actually in the office yesterday (he'd spent the first four days of the week at a sales conference in New York, poor guy), and took me to lunch. The people at this company are genuinely pleased to have me there. I had a meeting to discuss the support and bug reporting process with people from engineering, and I asked them if they'd mind if I had access to the source code to help me narrow down bugs before coming to them for help, and instead of getting huffy and territorial, they were thrilled. And, best of all, I already got my first paycheck, and I have three and a half vacation hours already. :-)
