annmprice called to let me know she just got us the last two tickets to see Barry Manilow perform at the Mandalay in Las Vegas. This will be the only time he performs in the U.S. this year, and we're very excited. I got my plane tickets, and Ann is in charge of getting us a hotel room. This should be so much fun!

A few years ago I noticed that John Denver was playing in the Bay Area, and I wanted to go see him, but decided that I'd just catch him the next time through. Yes, right after that he went down to Monterey, flew an experimental airplane, and died. I figure he did it on purpose just to annoy me. Since then, I've made sure to go see musicians that I like the first chance I get, lest they go and die on me. I went to see the Who, and sure enough, John Entwistle died before they came back again, so it's a good plan.
