I saw Barry try to sneak into the one corner of Chaz's office that has a cord (the tail end of a cable television line), with that guilty look of a cat who is going to chew on a cord, so I pushed the cord into the closet and closed the door, in the hope that will keep him away from it for at least a little while. I'm fairly sure that the boys are bored, and still somewhat stressed at the newness of everything. I'm still sick, so I haven't done all of the "cat away" spraying on things like the power cords around the house, or done anything about a lot of the stacks of things that they'll knock over. I did put the bread on the top shelf of the pantry, which is (a little) something.

So I decided that tonight I should let the boys look around for a few minutes, just to give them an idea of the place. They were very quiet and kind of shy about things, especially Baz. Mac found G'Kwan, who was all closed up in his shell. Mac sniffed at him, nothing happened, so Mac hopped away. I think Dymphna is under my backpack in the corner of our bedroom.

When Baz found the pile of power cords under my computer I cut things short and put the boys back into the back. Tomorrow I'll do some spraying of cords then let them out for a real look around. I expect to hear the sound of things crashing onto the floor a lot tomorrow.

I love the image of your turtle hanging out under your backpack. *<3*

Kitties like wadded-up paper to bat around. And string to chase but don't let them have it unsupervised, which you no doubt know already. And brown paper bags. And boxes. Just sayin'.

Chaz's study currently has boxes and ribbons for them to play with, but I think they've mostly been ignoring those. One of the catnip toys has been completely eviscerated, though.

They'll probably regard the 'Cat away' as a particularly tasty sauce on the power cords. :-)

Yep. We've never found any of those anti-cat sprays to work. There was one that worked on *us*, it smelled so awful, but the cats ignored it completely.

That's been my experience as well. We'll soon find out, though. He'll be on his way soon. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they are reunited.

Scopin' out the new power cord possibilities, eh, boys, while Daddy is still away?

I love the idea that they already want to take over Chaz' study.

Hope you feel better soon.

Smoke is still enjoying playing with the ribbon hanging from "her" balloon--actually, a Valentine's Day balloon purchased by one human for the other human in the household. She knew from the minute it came into the house, though, that it was actually meant to be hers.
