As a child the family always played pub-cricket on long journeys. You take one side of the road and your opponent takes the other and your score the number of legs on each pub you pass. The Jolly Miller scores 2 for the miller. The Coach and Six scores 24 for 6 horses with four legs each etc. The Queen's Head scores zero because it's detached from her body.
So I vowed that if ever I owned a pub it would be called The Golden Centipede and be a boon to all pub-cricket players.
