Random late night Friday five
Aug. 4th, 2012 12:04 am1. Chaz turned in the steampunk story we wrote together (by "Mr. and Mrs. Brenchley"). The words are mostly his, the plot mostly mine. I really like the story. I hope everyone else does, too.
2. I'm sitting here at the computer because my legs hurt. The good news is that they hurt because I've been doing the stretches my personal trainer recommended (plus Tuesday's yoga class). The bad news is that they still hurt, but the pain pills will kick in soon.
3. Chaz and I went to the pub two nights this week. Just about everywhere around here are fake Irish pubs, and downtown Sunnyvale is no different. Fibbar McGee's is different from the other bars in the downtown, though, in that it has a side area ("the Snug") with only one big-screen TV, plus several tables around a fireplace, and short walls around the tables. It's a little bit quieter and a good place to hang out with friends, so twice this week we went there and hung out with friends. We'll be doing it more often, too.
4. Along with the exercising I've gone back to Weight Watchers. Chaz cooks very healthy dinners, for the most part, and has started packing me lunches as well. All yummy, and we'll see if I manage to lose the 15(!) pounds I put on in the last year.
5. The boys are fabulous. We get along well. Dymphna seems to not be pregnant after all, and G'Kwan is hanging out mostly alone (so business as usual, for this time of year).

Date: 2012-08-04 10:10 am (UTC)This healthy cooking, would that be the double chocolate banana cake he's just posted about? (Oh, well, chocolate is a vegetable...)

Date: 2012-08-04 05:30 pm (UTC)And hey, the original recipe for the banana bread said sour cream, and I used yoghurt. That's healthy. And bananas! And flour is a vegetable. And butter comes from grass, which is a vegetable. And sugar is a vegetable. And eggs come from grass and seeds, and hence are vegetable in origin too. And vanilla is a vegetable, and that concludes our tour of the ingredients.

Date: 2012-08-04 03:14 pm (UTC)El V lost 7 lbs while in Angola. As he's not walking as much here in NYC, I think his weight loss will considerably slow. He'd like to lose another 7 lbs.
I lost 4 lbs. while he was gone, and would like to lose 2 more.
Then we'd both be returned to our fighting weight!
Love, C.
