I downloaded this journal, which gives cvs files will all the journal entries for a single month. Downloaded them by hand is really fast, but then I started peaking at the largest file per year. Which led me to the month

maestrateresa died, which lead me into three years where my life changed dramatically, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Interesting reading, for me, at least.

One thing I'd like to do with my csv files it to try to do some NLP* processing on it, to see if I can figure out things like how positive/negative the entries were, and what topics I wrote about the most (probably not Chaz. no, really.), that kind of thing. If I come up with anything interesting I'll post it somewhere so other people can run it on their own journals.

I've also trimmed my journal somewhat. The people I removed were people who hadn't posted for years. If I took you off my list and you're still reading here, I'll add you back. About half of my list are still people who post regularly, most of them writers, so that's OK. I don't know how many are on dw.

I am still here, still posting, still reading, and cross posted at DW al_zorra there too, for almost as long as I've been on LJ.

It's hilarious, isn't it, how concerned suddenly people are again about LJ and security, when over the years there's not been a real problem here, and while FB, Twitter, Uber, etc., which nobody can imagine quitting have proven over and over how insecure, exploitive and dangerous they are!

Yup. I think it's a reaction to Russia playing a role in giving us Trump.

That in combination with a long history of DDOS attacks against LJ whenever there's something going down in internal Russian politics. The latter is why so many of us have DW accounts as backup even if we primarily read on LJ. My guess is that with the servers moving to Russia various people got worried about having uninvited guests in their accounts and not just being unable to access their accounts while the latest DDOSstorm was going on.

I still think it's weird that so many people get bent out of shape about LJ's Russian links but happily hand over all their personal data and all theirs friends' and family members' data as well to FaceBook so it can be sold to the highest bidder.

Yah, but the LJers are anti the pooterpoot and those who are grabbing Ukraine and Crimea! That's what's so weird that nobody actually pays attention personally to what's what in terms of who owns these media, but lemming like run hollering about skies falling instead of checking fax, while adhering to those who actually are tearing down the house.
