A couple more cool things

11. I went on several ride-alongs with a policeman (my housemate at the time). Apparently, whenever I would come along, all hell would break loose and things would be hopping all night.

12. I had a five course meal in a sixteenth century Italian villa in the Bologna countryside, while a string quartet played in the corner. Dessert was served buffet style in the formal garden.

Unfortunately I don't remember much about the dinner, because the whole evening had an air of fairy tale enchantment about it. I do remember it tasted wonderful, though. (And I inexplicably had all these leaves in my pocket where I was sure I had put my pocket change. :-) )

The first time I had fish and chips was in the Lake District, wrapped in newspaper and sprinkled with vinegar. It was great.
