A few months ago, a bunch of people I know were writing hometown haiku, and this is the one I wrote. Feel free to contribute your own hometown haiku.

Idaho

Mountains, forests, snow--
admire the stunning vistas.
Ignore the people.

El Cerrito

Little hill wrapped in fog
Rushing wind in the tall Eucs
A friend is laughing.

From the cool hilltop
All the world glitters below
Moonlight on the bay.

At the hill's elbow
Soft light glows from a window
Father is reading.

The wind does not sigh
Fog is not damp from weeping
The trees never mourn.

Thank *you*! Your challenge of hometown haiku really pushed a button. By the way, I shared yours on Idaho with my sister, who lived there for a couple of years -- she totally agreed!

Nice.

(Lived there for six month — that brings up good memories. As opposed to the bad memories of school.)
